UNIVERSAL BANKER Location: Department: Reports to: Positions Supervised: None Employee Classification: Temporary Regular Full Time Part-Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Salary Hourly Exempt Commission Position Summary: The Universal Banker plays a key role in providing retail banking services and products to bank customers.
The Universal Banker is “Guaranty Bank” to retail customers.
In addition to performing a variety of tasks associated with transacting customer requests and verifying the completeness of retail banking transactions, the Universal Banker is in the prime position to develop new business opportunities with current and potential customers.

Essential Task Statement(s) Branch Credit/Ownership (80%) Provide exceptional customer service, efficiently and tactfully, to assure customer satisfaction.
Perform all paying and receiving teller functions.
Responsible for the safekeeping of any cash or cash equivalent in their possession Receive and process night deposit bags.
Open, balances, and replenishes ATM as assigned.
Sell and process gift and travel cards.
Maintain log and inventory.
Rent safe deposit boxes; admit customers to safe deposit vault.
Initiate and follows-up research request.
Assist with teller balancing as needed.
Ability to work on Saturday rotation schedule.
Sell, service, and cross sell products and services, deposit accounts, loan products, transaction accounts, and safe deposit boxes.
Assist in development of new business by interviewing customers, determining the financial services they desire, explaining to them their alternatives, and referring them to the appropriate staff.
Open accounts by preparing the appropriate documents.
Research and resolve customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other bank departments when necessary.
Initiate wire transfers on behalf of customers.
Initiate debit card disputes on behalf of customers.
Assists customers with check orders and check order inquiries.
Issue starter debit cards.
Provide relief coverage for station to determine appropriate times for lunch and breaks.
Received, sorts, and forwards incoming mail.
Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents.
Assist with basic Checking and Internet account inquiries, unless a large amount of time is involved.
May also assist with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, and filing.
Open and close visitor area.
Keep hospitality area neat, clean, and stocked with customer information.
Ensure bank is in compliance with federal banking regulations including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Community Reinvestment Act, American with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Federal Reserve’s “lettered” regulations, and Universal Banker roles and responsibilities relating to each act.
Customer Service (10%) Represent Guaranty Bank & Trust Company professionally, efficiently, and tactfully.
Acknowledge and greet customers with a smile, call customer by their name, ask if they need any additional assistance, thank customer at end of every conversation.
Ensure continuing development of professional relationships with management and colleagues.
Follow all bank policies and procedures.
Answer and assist incoming callers with questions and requests, subsequently route callers, as appropriate.
Receive incoming bank visitors and assist in directing them appropriately.

Position Qualifications Education: Required – High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred – Post –secondary certificate or degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, experience will be considered.
Experience: Required – 1 to 2 years of experience in banking or related field.
Preferred – 3 to 5 years of experience in banking or a related area.
